McGlinchey does know, however, that he wants to bring an end to his recruitment within the next few months.
"Nobody's really a favorite yet," McGlinchey said. "I don't think I've taken enough visits to be able to say anything about a favorite because I don't know enough about all the schools. Once I get out to see all the schools, I'll be able to narrow down the list of where I want to go to school and hopefully make my decision by the end of the school year."
McGlinchey went from five verbal offers to 16 within the last three weeks, picking up the likes of Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State. At 6-foot-7, 265 pounds, McGlinchey projects as a tackle.
"The last two weeks, it's just gotten really crazy," McGlinchey said. "I don't know if this is what I expected or not. It seemed like once I got my film out, everybody started contacting my coach and contacting me. I'm really thankful for all of the opportunities I'm being given."
McGlinchey has no visits set in stone, but expects the spring to be his chance to take visits, narrow down his list and, by the beginning of June, make a verbal commitment.
"I don't have any planned, but once my schedule starts setting up for the spring, I'm sure it'll allow me to start getting out to different schools and looking at the places that I'm interested in across the country," McGlinchey said. "I plan on taking a bunch of visits."
McGlinchey visited Rutgers during a bowl practice in December and left with a positive impression.
"It was a really nice place," he said. "The facilities are unbelievable. The staff was completely different then, but I liked it. It's hard to say anything regarding them now, but most of all, it seems like a really great school and I like that it's close to home. It's really exciting to be considered to be a Rutgers guy."
McGlinchey will "absolutely" take a return visit to Rutgers to meet Kyle Flood and the new staff, he said.
"Ive talk with Coach Flood with Facebook messages and stuff like that," McGlinchey said. "He seems like a good guy. I'll probably start calling them on the phone and stuff like that soon and start building that relationship."
