Christian Gets Rutgers Offer, Names Favorite

McKeesport (Pa.) linebacker Hodari Christian picked up a verbal scholarship offer from Rutgers last week. With six total offers, Christian has a leader in mind and is continuing to plan his spring and summer visits.

McKeesport (Pa.) linebacker Hodari Christian likes what he has heard from Rutgers, the newest school to verbally offer him a scholarship, but has a different leader in mind going into the rest of the spring.

After a recent visit to Morgantown, W.V., Christian said West Virginia is his favorite of his six verbal scholarship offers.

"My favorite right now would definitely be West Virginia," Christian said. "I went down there and felt really comfortable down there. I went to see everything and I really liked it. It was pretty amazing."

Christian will visit Pittsburgh this weekend and wants to visit Rutgers, but has yet to make formal plans. Christian received a verbal offer from Rutgers last week alongside teammate Ed Stockett, a quarterback.

"I was kind of excited," Christian said. "That's what I'll say about it. ... It was cool because they offered me and Ed."

Christian attends the same high school of former Rutgers official visitors Branden Jackson and Delvon Simmons. Most of his knowledge of the program, he said, came from them.

"I don't know yet about it know," Christian said. "I don't a lot about Rutgers since they got their new coach.

"I've heard about them from some of my teammates and coaches. They're a really good school. It's a good school, really." After Brian Angelicho left Rutgers for the NFL, new tight ends coach Darnell Dinkins stepped in to recruit the area. Dinkins has made an early impact on Christian, who said he gets along well with the 10-year NFL veteran.

"He's really cool," Christian said. "He said he kind of sees me as something that he used to play against when he was in college and the NFL. ... He has a Super Bowl ring."
