The Week That Was's "The Week That Was" feature is designed to give readers a quick-read format to catch up on the major happenings from the last seven days. This is installment features the midway point of spring camp and key recruiting updates.

So much happens here in a week's time, it's possible to miss some of the happenings and news.

On the Gridiron
  • Rutgers is at the halfway mark of spring camp with just four practices and a scrimmage between today and the spring game.

  • The injury bug has started to creep into the Scarlet Knights' camp, but no serious injuries have been sustained. During the week, Betim Bujari (ankle), Ben Martin (leg), Malcolm Bush (knee) and Jawan Jamison (undisclosed) missed time.

  • Bujari and Bush are likely out for the spring, but Jamison is expected back tomorrow at practice.

  • Rutgers coach Kyle Flood expects to try one or two position changes at tomorrow's practice.

  • Rutgers announced a new television program this week with the chance to see a behind-the-scenes look at spring practice. For more information, go to for more on "RFootball: 15 Days of Spring."

  • A popular topic among recruits, look for Rutgers to unveil its new uniforms shortly after the spring game.

In Recruiting
  • Williamstown (N.J.) linebacker Buddy Brown and Timber Creek (Erial, N.J.) linebacker Myles Nash spent the weekend at Rutgers during spring camp. Both gave the visit positive reviews to and plan to make decisions before the summer.

  • Brown and Nash plan to return to Rutgers for the spring game in two weeks.

  • St. John Vianney (Holmdel, N.J.) wideout Ishmael Hyman received a Rutgers offer during an unofficial visit to campus.

  • Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) WR/S Kyle Queiro was another key weekend visitor to Rutgers. Queiro is being recruited as a safety by Rutgers and plans to cut his list at the end of the spring evaluation period.

  • Rutgers incoming freshmen Leonte Carroo, Darius Hamilton, Quanzell Lambert, Jevon Tyree, Steve Longa and Desmon Peoples were also in attendance for Saturday's practice.
  • Woodbury (N.J.) cornerback Anthony Averett verbally committed to Alabama.

  • Piscataway (N.J.) cornerback Nadir Barnwell added a Penn State offer this week.
