"This one was really good because I already felt comfortable with the staff and everything," Klecko said. "I thought the whole day was fun."
Klecko met with defensive line coach Jim Panagos and head coach Kyle Flood. In watching the spring game itself, Klecko said he was even more impressed with Panagos' coaching style.
" It was interesting how the spring game went along and how everything looked," Klecko said. "It was good to see the coaches again. I had a lot of fun.
"I like how the defensive line plays. It's exactly how my dad plays it, so that's always a positive. They use their hands really well and I liked how the nose tackle uses his stance. My dad says that's something I can do well."
Klecko's father, Joe Klecko, has been nominated multiple times for the NFL Hall of Fame after an illustrious career with the New York Jets.
At Rutgers Saturday with his son, Klecko met up with another former Jet — Ray Lucas. Lucas played quarterback at Rutgers before his stint in the NFL and is a friend of the family.
"My dad is pretty good friends with Ray," Klecko said. "I saw him after the game. He was saying he'd definitely love for me to go Rutgers like he did."
Klecko would like to make a decision before the start of his senior season, he said, but does not see one coming within the next few weeks.
"I want to see if any other schools open up," he said. "I'm still going to take my time, but I really like Rutgers and Temple and everything I'm hearing from them."
Temple was Klecko's first verbal scholarship offer. UMass has also offered.
"I like the coaches [at Temple] a lot," he said. "I like the head coach, Steve Addazio. He's cool. Almost all my family lives right in that area. It's still not too far from Rutgers, but Temple is like five minutes away from my entire family. I love the Philadelphia area. Temple has a great history with my dad and my brother (Dan Klecko)."
