Recruit Reactions: New Rutgers Uniforms

NEW YORK — One of the major target audiences for the new Rutgers uniforms is high-school recruits according to athletic director Tim Pernetti. So with the uniforms out in the public, ScarletReport.com presents recruit reactions to the dramatic changes.

Dayton (Springfield, N.J.) ATH Anthony Cioffi — "I love them all. They are nasty. I can't wait to suit up in one. The design is perfect. The best jersey, I think, is the alternate ones because the all-black look is just scary. The helmet tops them off."

South Brunswick (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) ATH T.J. Taylor — "Definitely the hottest uniforms in the Big East. Wearing those will definitely make you play a little bit better. ... That's what's up."

Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Pa.) center Brandon Arcidiacono — "They're sick, so cool. I love how the helmets are silver and the jerseys are the coolest jerseys I've ever seen."

Franklin (Somerset, N.J.) wide receiver Carlton Agudosi — "I love them. The helmets are the best part. I can't wait to wear them. They're definitely saucy."

Cranford (N.J.) ATH Reggie Green — "I think they're great. [It] gives Oregon and Maryland a run for their money."

Metuchen (N.J.) OL Dorian Miller — "I think it brings a nice new vibe and gives them some swag."

Timber Creek (Erial, N.J.) OLB Myles Nash — "I love them!"

Holy Tinity (Hicksville, N.Y.) quarterback Chris Laviano — "Those are sick! ... I love the black. That's awesome."

St. Peters Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) MLB Shane Huber — "They're awesome, sharp uniforms. [The black] are the nicest ones in my opinion. Gotta love the all-black."

Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.) OL Derrick Nelson— "Those are sick. I knew they were coming up with new uniforms, but man, they out did themselves."

St. John Vianney (Holmdel, N.J.) WR Ishmael Hyman -- "They're so nice. [The best are] their helmets. Their whole uniform is nice."

Pennington Prep (N.J.) OL Jordan Page -- "They are hot. That's it."

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic CB Jabrill Peppers -- "Wow! The Helmets are like trophies."
