After beating the best teams in the Northeast at Seton Hall last week, Ben Gamble, the Friars summer coach led the team into Philadelphia to capture the prestigous AND1 SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP. With the graduation of Terrence Roberts and Obie Nwadike, the Friars were led by an all new cast of outstanding atletes that play relentless defense to set up their sharp shooters. Little known 6'2" Otis Campbell had his coming out party as the MVP and will now hit all the national lists. Derrick Mercer, a 5'7" lighting rod parading as a basketball player, also showcased as did rapidly improving 6'5" insider, Barney Anderson. Marcus Williams also proved that he will a force this year. St. Pat's of Elizabeth was last year's national champion.
