"Everything is still the same," Gross said on his schools. "I like Rutgers a lot. They're in my top three. … Purdue and LSU are also in my top three."
Gross has been to Rutgers as an underclassmen camper and has family in the area. He hopes to visit in July, but has not set up a date to get to campus.
"I'm not sure because I'm seeing if my mom can come," he said. "If she can't, I'll go by myself."
Gross said information about education and meeting the coaching staff will be his focus on the visit.
"I know how great of a school Rutgers is because I've done my own research about it," Gross said. "Education is No. 1 to me. … I want to meet the coaches. I've talked to three of them, but I want to get to know all of the staff and the players and everything."
With plans to major in engineering or medicine, Purdue and Rutgers are standing out because of their respective greatness in each field.
"Purdue has great education," Gross said. "I've done a lot of research on them too and I know I can be successful there. It's Big 10 football and the academics."
LSU rounds out his top three and is also in the visit plans for Gross.
"LSU is just great football," Gross said. "They're in the SEC and they play a lot of great teams. I want to take a visit there."
For now, Gross plans to visit Rutgers, LSU and Purdue before making a verbal commitment, but said things can change.
"I've only been to Rutgers of them," Gross said. "I would say I want to take official visits to all three of them, but something might happen or I might get a new offer or something. I want to visit all three."
