Morehart Recaps Recent Rutgers Visit

Governor Mifflin (Shillington, Pa.) lineman Connor Morehart recently took his fourth visit to Rutgers and has three more college trips coming up. The 2014 Eastern Pennsylvania prospect went 1-on-1 with to discuss the latest in his recruitment and his most recent trip to Piscataway.

Governor Mifflin (Shillington, Pa.) lineman Connor Morehart has been to Rutgers multiple times, but saw his first game experience last week for the 26-0 victory over Howard. The trip also marked his first recruiting visit since the start of the Sept. 1 contact period for 2014 prospects.

"It was a great place to see a game," Morehart said. "I liked everything. The players were awesome. I was talking to all of the coaches. I thought the stadium was pretty good. The fans were going pretty crazy. The students were into it. I really liked it a lot."

Morehart holds a verbal scholarship offer from Rutgers and camped at a one-day event over the summer.

"Everything's been good," Morehart said. "I talk with the coaches a lot. It's great since they offered me. It's a great place. I would say right now Rutgers is recruiting me the hardest, then probably Penn State.

"I spent some time with the team before, in the recruiting pavilion. I just talked for a little and a couple of the players came up. I know one of the freshmen, Chris Muller. He's from about 20 minutes from my house. He really likes it there."

Since the start of the Sept. 1 contact period, Morehart has not received any new offers, but has a series of visits scheduled. He attended the Ohio State game yesterday against California and also has visits planned to Penn State and West Virginia.

"I've always been watching these teams on TV, but I never really got to go to them," Morehart said. "I'm excited to talk to the coaches and check out the atmosphere."

Morehart thinks Penn State is the closest school to offering, but also named Syracuse and Pittsburgh as showing interest.

"I'm trying not to pay too much attention to [recruiting] so far," Morehart said. "I'm going to be taking my time and doing everything slowly to find the right school. It's not like I'm looking to commit soon or anything."
