Rutgers-Louisville Sold Out!

The final tickets were sold moments ago as Rutgers' showdown with Louisville for a BCS bowl berth is now sold out.

Rutgers biggest game is six years is also the hottest ticket.

The Scarlet Knights announced moments ago Thursday's game against Louisville for a berth in a BCS bowl is sold out.

"There has been a buzz surrounding this game all year and will be great to see a sold out High Point Solutions Stadium tomorrow night," Rutgers senior associate athletic director Jason Baum said. "We can't wait to see 52,454 fans waiving the white rally towels as the team runs out of the tunnel."

It is in line to be the the third-largest crowd in High Point Solutions Stadium history.

The on-campus record for a Rutgers home game is 53,737, which was a 47-15 loss to Cincinnati on Sept. 1, 2009. The Scarlet Knights ended that season with the second-largest crowd as 52,534 watched West Virginia win 24-21 on Dec. 5, 2009.

Rutgers is 9-2, 5-1 in the Big East, and will clinch a berth in either the Sugar Bowl or Orange Bowl with a win.

If Rutgers wins and Kent State beats Northern Illinois in the MAC title game, the Sugar Bowl is expected to select Rutgers to play Florida in New Orleans on Jan. 2. A Rutgers win and a Kent State loss and the Scarlet Knights are expected to head to the Orange Bowl in Miami on Jan. 1 and play the winner of ACC title game, which pits Georgia Tech against Florida State.

If the Scarlet Knights lose, Louisville (9-2, 4-2) is expected to grab the BCS berth, although the Scarlet Knights already clinched a share of the Big East title. The Cardinals would get the BCS bowl berth nod because it is anticipated they would rank highest of the Big East teams in the BCS standings.
