Moore Decommits from Rutgers

University School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) linebacker Skai Moore decommitted from Rutgers this evening and will explore options with other schools. What was the reasoning behind his decommitment and is Rutgers still in contention? ScarletReport.com has the answers.

University School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) three-star outside linebacker Skai Moore decommitted from Rutgers. Moore will "start over" the recruiting process, per his head coach Roger Harriot and can take as many as three official visits.

"His family (mother and grandfather) are now taking a very active role in it," Harriot said. "They feel he needs to focus on working with his family to pick a school instead of going out on his own."

The final month of Moore's recruitment remains up in the air with planned visits to South Carolina and Rutgers now on hold.

"I have no idea what he's going to do," Harriot said. "They're going to start the process over and evaluate."

Arkansas, South Carolina, Rutgers and Vanderbilt are a likely top four, but new schools can pop up as he starts from scratch. They didn't feel like he made an educated decision when he committed to Rutgers. They feel like he did it on his own.
