PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers guard Elijah Carter is "pressing" after his benching and 1-for-14 night against St. John's, said head coach Mike Rice. Speaking after Friday's practice, Carter spoke to the media about his frustrations and the changes needed to bounce back.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Sometimes the shots simply do not fall, said Elijah Carter. The Rutgers sophomore guard is admittedly struggling but does not plan to change the way he approaches games or practice.
Carter said he wants to be a better creator for his teammates, but that he has confidence in his own ability to make the shots needed to bounce back.
As a freshman, Carter scored 19 points and was 6-for-13 from the floor in an upset over Connecticut. This time around, Carter expects new UConn coach Kevin Ollie to game-plan for him.
