Quick Hitter: Severe Visits Rutgers

Christ the King (Queens) three-star guard Jonathan Severe took an unofficial visit to Rutgers today and is getting closer to making a decision.

Christ the King (Queens) three-star guard Jonathan Severe has been involved with Rutgers since the beginning of his recruiting process and took another unofficial visit to campus today.

Visiting on the eve of Senior Night at the Louis Brown Athletic Center, Severe said he left with a better impression of Rutgers.

"I've been there before, so it wasn't like there was any surprises or anything but it was different," Severe said. "It was great."

Severe spent a few hours on campus with coach Mike Rice, his staff and the roster. Severe watched practice and also spent time with star guard Myles Mack.

"They're cool," Severe said. "I'm comfortable with their guys."

Duquesne, West Virginia and George Washington have all hosted Severe on visits, but he has no leader in the process.

The timetable for a decision is up to his head coach, he said, but he would like to end the process "soon."

"I don't have any favorites," Severe said. "... I'm just looking for a place that's good for me to play."
