TV: Freshman LB Lester Liston

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Freshman linebacker Lester Liston expects to fight for immediate playing time after enrolling early at Rutgers. Midway through his first spring camp with the Scarlet Knights, Liston discussed the wake-up call he faced in early college practices and where he must show improvement before finding playing time.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Linebacker Lester Liston showed Rutgers enough on film to crack the two-deep at linebacker before his first practice.

To compete for playing time, however, is going to take six solid months of hard work. Liston had to drop nearly 15 pounds after he enrolled and is now fully emersed in the playbook under defensive coordinator Dave Cohen.

Liston is one of a handful of 2013 signed prospects expected to see playing time as a true freshman and he spoke with this week about his personal expectations and where he must improve.
