Quick Hitter: Brown Still Committed

Broward (Fla.) junior college wing Craig Brown has not made a final decision but remains committed to Rutgers more than a week after the firing of coach Mike Rice and resignation of athletic director Tim Pernetti. ScarletReport.com has the details.

Broward (Fla.) junior college wing Craig Brown remains committed to Rutgers basketball and his head coach expects him to sign with the Scarlet Knights unless something changes.

"He's still committed and he hasn't visited any other schools," said Broward coach Bob Starkman. "At this point, I expect him to end up at Rutgers but I'll know more tomorrow when we sit down to talk about it."

Signing Day for junior college players begins this week. Brown may not sign before a head coach is in place.

"We have some workouts tomorrow night, so we're going to talk about everything then," Starkman said. "He really liked Rutgers on his visit. He built a good relationship with [assistant coach] Van Macon."

Brown is the lone 2013 prospect still committed to Rutgers after the firing of Mike Rice and resignation of athletic director Tim Pernetti.

Wabash Valley junior college wing Chris Griffin committed to Auburn yesterday after a weekend visit and South Kent guard Shane Rector decommitted last week.

Rector told ScarletReport.com that Rutgers remains in consideration but Missouri and a handful of other schools are now making a push.
