PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Kaleb Johnson was recruited to Rutgers as a guard and got his first true taste of it yesterday at spring practice. A multi-year starter at tackle, Johnson tried out at left guard in the final week of spring camp with coach Kyle Flood looking for the right five on the offensive line.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers coach Kyle Flood experimented with a series of changes on the offensive line this week and starting left tackle Kaleb Johnson was one of the most notable changes.
A two-year starter at tackle, the junior lineman played left guard Tuesday in 11-on-11 drills and will continue to try the position during the rest of spring camp.
Struggling to run the ball successfully this spring, Flood continues his search for the best five offensive linemen. Johnson, who missed last spring with an injury, discussed his move and excitement for Saturday's spring game.
