Rutgers to Host JuCo Recruit

Rutgers and new coach Eddie Jordan have been active on the recruiting trail with their first 2013 recruit already signed. Looking to fill out a depleted roster, Hutchinson Community College (Kansas) guard D'Von Campbell will be on campus this weekend.

Hutchinson (Kansas) guard D'Von Campbell will be the first recruit to visit Rutgers since head coach Eddie Jordan took over the program this week. Campbell does not have a scholarship offer, but one could be coming Sunday during his visit.

"He's going to visit Rutgers Sunday," said Hutch head coach Steven Eck. "... They just had a new coach (Jordan) come in and there is a lot of interest."

Campbell played one year at UTEP before transferring to Hutchinson. As a sophomore at Hutch, Campbell started 27 games and averaged 12.1 points and 3.8 assists per game. The 6-foot guard has three years to play two at the college level.

"He runs the floor well," Eck said. "He's a great competitor. He really gets people involved like a point guard should. He's accurate and that's key at the position."

Campbell has an offer from South Alabama, Eck said.
