Fullwood Planning Summer Visits

Tampa Bay Technical (Tampa, Fla.) athlete Tajee Fullwood continues to see his recruitment intensify after Florida state offered during the spring evaluation period. Preparing for a busy summer, Fullwood discussed the latest in his recruitment.

Florida State and Rutgers are two of the schools most aggressively recruiting Tampa Bay Technical (Tampa, Fla.) athlete Tajee Fullwood. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect had a successful spring evaluation period of offers.

Fullwood is not ready to name leaders in his recruitment, but plans to use a visit of summers to build a firm top five.

"It's going well, but I'm trying to take things slow," Fullwood said. "Every school is open right now and still an option. I have, sort of, a top five but I'm not ready to put it out. All of the schools that have offered me are still in there."

Though not ready to name his top schools, Fullwood does have some top coaches in mind and Rutgers defensive line coach Jim Panagos is high on the list.

"That's one of the main reasons I have a bunch of interest in Rutgers," Fullwood said. "He talks to me all the time and it's always really exciting."

Rutgers is recruiting Fullwood as a defensive back. Though he has no preference on offense or defense, Fullwood said he likes the idea of playing in the Rutgers secondary after recent NFL successes.

"Coach [Darrell] Wilson came down to see me," Fullwood said. "We've talked about playing DB and stuff and that will be big for me to play DB in college. Their NFL guys are a big impact on why I like the school. They can send me to the league. That's where I plan on going.

Fullwood said he expects five or six visits this summer and will camp with his team at Florida, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Kentucky.

Fullwood hopes to return to Florida State soon.

"That's all I thought about when I was a kid," Fullwood said on Florida State. "I'm very excited for it. I've followed the program for a long time. They're recruiting me as an athlete. They're recruiting me as a football player and I really like them."
