WR Canteen Enjoys Rutgers Visit

Eastern Christian (Elkton, Md.) receiver Freddy Canteen named Rutgers his leader earlier this month and visited campus Saturday for a personal junior day experience. Canteen discussed his visit and decision timeframe with ScarletReport.com.

Rutgers led for Eastern Christian (Elkton, Md.) receiver Freddy Canteen going into his Saturday visit to campus and the trip only improved his thoughts on the program.

Close with his recruiting coach, Damian Wroblewski, but looking to learn more about the school, he and his mother enjoyed themselves during an in-depth unofficial visit.

"I had a great time and everything," Canteen said. "I got a complete understanding of what Rutgers has to offer."

Canteen took his mother on the visit and she also liked what she saw -- getting a look at the facilities and academic opportunities at nearby Rutgers.

"My mom really enjoyed it," he said. "She wants me to commit now, but I'm going to take a couple of days to think about it. Everything was great on the visit."

One of the highlights of the visit for Canteen was a 1-on-1 meeting with new offensive coordinator Ron Prince.

"I really got a detailed look of what they expect out of me and what they expect out of their program," he said. "I had a good talk with him. He really impressed me."

Canteen has more than a dozen visits scheduled this June to schools, including Syracuse, USC, Ohio State, Michigan and UCLA.

He and other Eastern Christian standouts will be back on the Rutgers campus later this month for a passing camp.
