Connect Four

Rutgers made a recruiting splash in multiple sports this weekend with four major additions. Adding three commitments for the 2014 football class and bringing back basketball guard Jerome Seagears, it made for a memorable recruiting weekend for the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers added verbal commitments from Robert Martin, George Behr, Logan Lister and Jerome Seagears. Adding all four in less than a 48-hour span, the Scarlet Knight "family" strengthened with multiple football additions and a major basketball one.

Robert Martin
Robert Martin

School -- Harrisburg (Pa.)

Position -- Running back

Recruitment -- Martin narrowed to Rutgers, West Virginia and Pittsburgh Friday morning before making his decision. The talented tailback was close to a decision before visiting Morgantown, W.V., last week and a return home sealed the deal for the Scarlet Knights. Martin visited multiple times in the spring and expects to return to Rutgers for another visit when training camp begins.

On Rutgers -- "It's the atmosphere. They've been recruiting me since day one, hard. It's really good to be going to play for [the Rutgers coaches]. They're really good guys and they bring out a family atmosphere. I can fit into their system and they've been telling me that since day one."

Jerome Seagears
Jerome Seagears

School -- Auburn (via Rutgers)

Position -- Combo guard

Recruitment -- Seagears was not happy at Auburn after leaving Rutgers during the Mike Rice scandal. Seagears requested a chance to leave Auburn and the Tigers allowed him to return to Piscataway, N.J., and play immediately. Seagears comes from Washington, D.C., and watched Eddie Jordan coach the Washington Wizards while growing up. Seagears signed Friday and will arrive for the second summer session.

On Rutgers -- "I'm looking to finish strong just with everybody still here. Most definitely, I think we're going to see a good outcome of this. We faced a lot of adversity with everything that went on and I think that it's a big opportunity for all of us with coach Eddie Jordan."

George Behr
George Behr

School -- East Ridge (Woodbury, Minn.)

Position -- Tight end

Recruitment -- Behr loved his Rutgers camp experience and was quick to come to a decision after returning home and discussing it with his family. Behr was one of the standouts of the Friday night skills camp at Rutgers and provides depth and a significant blocking presence in Ron Prince's offense.

On Rutgers -- "I really liked their coaching staff. When I visited a couple Fridays ago they were very supportive of me and they showed a lot of interest in me. What they do with their offense and how they use their tight ends totally caught my eye. I'm a fan of that and I thought it was the right fit for me."

Logan Lister
Logan Lister

School -- Katy (Texas)

Position -- Tight end

Recruitment -- Lister is a "soft verbal" commitment. He committed Saturday to lock in a spot in the class of 2014 and said his Friday visit to campus is all that stands in the way of a full commitment. Lister fully expects to firm up his commitment to coach Kyle Flood Friday, he told ScarletReport.com and will not use his "soft verbal" status to take other visits.

On Rutgers -- "It's a really exciting feeling because I know how great of an opportunity it can be for me. Honestly the only thing that was holding me back was not being there on a visit yet, but I expect to really see everything I need to see and feel great about it. I'm excited to visit and see what a great place Rutgers is."
