ScarletReport.com's "The Week That Was" feature is designed to give ScarletReport.com readers a quick-read format to catch up on the major happenings from the last seven days. This is installment features four major commitments.

On the Gridiron

Rutgers is back at school for summer classes and workouts with training camp set to begin in August. With nine members of the class of 2013 now enrolled, the bulk of the class is due to arrive next week.

Incoming tight end Nick Arcidiacono helped lead Pennsylvania over Maryland in the Big 33 all-star game in Hershey, Pa.

In Recruiting

Coach Kyle Flood received three verbal commitments this week in a class of 2014 that is up to 14 members.

East Ridge (Woodbury, Minn.) tight end George Behr verbally committed to Rutgers Friday. Rutgers was Behr's only offer after impressing at the Friday night skills camp in Piscataway, N.J.

Harrisburg (Pa.) running back Robert Martin verbally committed to Rutgers Friday night over double-digit offers and finalists West Virginia and Pittsburgh.

Katy (Texas) tight end Logan Lister made a soft verbal commitment to Rutgers Saturday, saying he expects to solidify his decision Friday on his first visit to the campus.

Rumson-Fairhaven (N.J.) defensive end Donald Bedell received a verbal scholarship offer from Rutgers after the Big Man Academy and is expected to return to campus soon.

Weeki Wachee (Fla.) offensive lineman Marcus Applefield left his Rutgers unofficial visit impressed with the coaching staff. Rutgers was one of six visits for Applefield in the last week.

Coatesville (Pa.) linebacker Tyler Burke is focused on Rutgers and Maryland after visiting Piscataway this week and could be close to a decision.

Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia) wide receiver Jamal Custis and Duncan Fletcher (Neptune Beach, Fla.) fullback Jacob Kraut will make unofficial visits to Rutgers this week. Kraut named Rutgers his leader going into the visit.

On the Hardwood

Junior guard Jerome Seagears will return to Rutgers. Receiving his release from Auburn, the one-time starter for the Scarlet Knights signed to rejoin the program for the second summer session.

Seagears will be eligible to play immediately and puts coach Eddie Jordan near the scholarship cap for his 2013-14 roster.
