Lott to Enroll Early

First Coast (Jacksonville, Fla.) cornerback Kam Lott plans to enroll early at Rutgers. Lott committed to Rutgers last month and recently returned from an on-campus Friday night skills camp with his family.

The Rutgers secondary will get another boost in January when First Coast (Jacksonville, Fla.) cornerback Kam Lott enrolls early.

Lott is involved extracurricular studies at First Coast and has his sights set on an early graduation.

"Me graduating early just gives me a quicker start to get acclimated to things," Lott said. "[I can] see how the team works out, and academically it'll give me a great chance to meet my professors, have a whole semester under my belt."

Lott was a standout at the Friday night skills camp and said the visit motivated him to get to Rutgers earlier.

"Chris Black, an Alabama receiver from my high school, did it and I just saw the success it brought him, so I figured why not. It'll help."

Lott has been busy on the camp circuit with his team but said all of the camps he attends are to support his teammates and improve his skills.

Lott has been to Auburn, Florida State and will be at South Florida this weekend.

"This offseason, I want to go to every camp and go against the best before I head to Rutgers," Lott said.
