The Week that Was's "The Week That Was" feature is designed to give readers a quick-read format to catch up on the major happenings from the last seven days. This is installment features another commitment spree and the start of camp season.

In an effort to make the site even more user-friendly, provides a week in review. So much happens here in a week's time, it's possible to miss some of the happenings and news. To make it easier, each Monday "The Week That Was" will be posted to give an update on what transpired. All stories from can be accessed through the message boards.

On the Gridiron

Head coach Kyle Flood announced the addition of two fifth-year seniors to the roster. Cornerback Lewis Toler joins the program from Western Michigan and punter Nick Marsh from Colorado. Flood expects both to immediately compete for playing time.

Rutgers welcomes the rest of its recruiting class to summer classes at the start of the week. With the exception of defensive end Eric Wiafe, the 2013 class is expected to be all set academically.

In Recruiting

Rutgers is up to 17 verbal commitments after a big recruiting week for Flood and company. Rutgers received verbal pledges from Katy (Texas) three-star tight end Logan Lister firmed up his Rutgers commitment Friday on an unofficial visit. Lister made his soft verbal two weeks ago and wanted to see the campus before a complete commitment.

Fletcher (Neptune Beach, Fla.) fullback Jacob Kraut verbally committed to Rutgers on an unofficial visit this week.

University School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) linebacker Branden Russell earned a Rutgers offer and committed. Russell comes from the same school as freshman defensive end Nick Internicola.

Rumson-Fairhaven (N.J.) defensive end Donald Bedell joined the Rutgers recruiting class with a verbal commitment the morning after a visit with his family.

DePaul (Wayne, N.J.) four-star safety Kiy Hester has Rutgers as his leader. Down to seven schools, he said he could decide within the month.

Eastern Christian (Elkton, Md.) offensive lineman Jamie Herr named Rutgers his leader and plans to sit down with his head coach this week to discuss a college decision.

ECA teammate Freddy Canteen, who earned Tennessee and Michigan offers this week, took another visit to Rutgers and hopes to decide this summer.

Rutgers made the top seven for defensive back Tajee Fullwood and top five for linebacker Xavier Preston out of Florida this week.

St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) running back Jonathan Hilliman has an unofficial visit to Rutgers planned this week, and will see the rest of his top six this summer.

First Coast (Jacksonville, Fla.) cornerback commit Kam Lott will enroll early.

On the Hardwood

Rutgers received a 2014 commitment from Massanutten Military Academy (Va.) forward Dwayne Foreman. The 6-foot-7 wing chose Rutgers over offers from Pittsburgh, Alabama and others.
