PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Miami Norland High (Fla.) three-star receiver Kendrick Edwards is close to a decision after spending two days at Rutgers. Edwards spent two days on campus to see the ins and outs of the program and approached the end of his visit feeling good about Rutgers.

"Rutgers is a special place," he said. "I'm loving it honestly."

Edwards worked out with receivers in the morning sessions Tuesday and spent time with Rutgers commit Tyler Wiegers at quarterback.

"He's really good," Edwards said. "He's a great quarterback. He's been recruiting me some talking about playing together at Rutgers."

Edwards spent Monday with the coaching staff and received an in-depth tour of the facilities and campus. He had conversations with most coaches on staff and said he had fun meeting some of the players.

"I got to see all four campuses a lot," Edwards said. "I liked how big it is and the different places on all of the campuses. There are a lot of good people here.

"They're all nice people, they love just talking to me about everything. They're cool to be around."

Edwards worked closely with graduate assistant Matt Simon during the morning session.

"I liked coach Simon when I was out there playing," Edwards said. "I like that energy in a coach. I learned a lot."

A decision is coming "in early July" with Rutgers, Louisville, Arkansas and South Carolina all recruiting him hard, Edwards said.

"I don't know exactly when, but I want to commit pretty soon," Edwards said. "I'm almost ready."
