Edwards Close to Decision

Miami Norland High (Fla.) three-star receiver Kendrick Edwards could have a decision made as early as next week after naming Rutgers his leader at the start of the month. Edwards spoke with ScarletReport.com about changes in July and what stands between now and a verbal commitment.

Miami Norland High (Fla.) three-star receiver Kendrick Edwards remains set on making a verbal commitment during the first week of August. Turning the calendar to August next week, Edwards said he could see a decision made by the weekend.

"I'm very close," Edwards said. "I'll be ready to commit the first week of August."

Edwards wanted to visit Louisville before a decision and said that the visit could still take place.

"I haven't been yet," Edwards said. "I still want to go. I think it's kind of up to my coaches … if we can set it up."

Nothing has changed in his recruitment, Edwards said, since he left Rutgers camp with the Scarlet Knights as his leader.

"Rutgers was great," Edwards said. "I saw the whole school and spent so much time with the coaches that I was very comfortable. … They showed me around everywhere. It was great."
