Remaining Recruiting Targets: Offense

Rutgers heads into August and its 2013 training camp with 20 committed recruits. Looking for a strong finish to the summer in recruiting, Rutgers has key prospects close to decisions on both sides of the ball. finishes with a look at the offensive prospects. looks at the remaining Rutgers recruiting targets in the class of 2014 with multiple decisions looming. We begin with a look at recruits on the defensive side of the ball.

Alonso (Fla.) RB Ish Witter

Recruitment -- Witter finished visits to Rutgers and Syracuse last week and gave positive reviews to both places. Witter is ready to make his decision and hinted on Twitter that he is going somewhere cold (which could be either school when compared to Florida).

Decision -- Witter will announce Thursday.

St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) RB Jonathan Hilliman

Recruitment -- Hilliman gave top marks to his Friday Rutgers visit and told after his visit that he planned to "shock" the world when he made his decision. Hilliman has tentative trips set for Miami and Vanderbilt and is not hearing from Ohio State, Michigan or Alabama right now.

Decision -- Hilliman will announce the week of Aug. 12.

Canisius (Buffalo, N.Y.) RB Qadree Ollison

Recruitment -- Ollison trimmed his list to Wisconsin, Penn State, Rutgers, Syracuse and Pittsburgh. A Sept. 6 official visit to Wisconsin could be in the works with trips to the other four schools already done.

Decision -- Ollison is set to announce Sept. 10 after his first game.

Weeki Wachee (Fla.) OL Marcus Applefield

Recruitment -- Applefield made plenty of visits this summer but never picked up the in-state offers he targeted. Rutgers was one of the best visits of the summer for Applefield, who enjoyed the effort the staff put into his experience.

Decision -- Applefield has no plans for a decision set, but told he hopes to decide before his first game.

Nassau Community College (N.Y.) OL Chad Mavety

Recruitment -- Mavety has visits to Ohio State, Rutgers, Alabama and Florida State under his belt in the last month. Rutgers has a lot of ground to make up for the JuCo lineman originally from New Jersey.

Decision -- Look for a post-season decision for Mavety, who plans to enroll for spring practice.

Eastern Christian (Elkton, Md.) OL Jamie Herr

Recruitment -- Rutgers and Herr have been up and down over the last month. Rutgers remains in the picture for Herr, who originally hoped to make his decision at the start of the summer. West Virginia former teammates Daikiel Shorts and Wendell Smallwood are recruiting him hard to Morgantown.

Decision -- Herr has nothing set but is expected to decide before the season starts.

Pope John XXIII (Sparta, N.J.) WR Noah Brown

Recruitment -- Brown spent the week at Ohio State and Vanderbilt. He named the Buckeyes formally as his leader after taking an unofficial visit. Rutgers remains hard after Brown, but has ground to make up.

Decision -- Brown's recruitment could go all the way to National Signing Day.

Erasmus Hall (N.Y.) WR Curtis Samuel

Recruitment -- A 4.36 electric-timed 40 at the Opening sent a message by Samuel. No longer an unknown, Ohio State and Rutgers are pushing the hardest and doing best with the talented athlete. Samuel is a multi-time visitor to Rutgers and is at Ohio State this weekend.

Decision -- Samuel told he plans to decide during the first half of his senior season.

Dwight Morrow (Engelwood, N.J.) WR Juwann Winfree

Recruitment -- Winfree is down to nine schools and the four-star recently returned to action after an upper body injury. He took multiple visits to Rutgers as an underclassman and knows there is limited space at his position in the class.

Decision -- Winfree does not have a definitive time frame for a commitment.

Miami Norland (Fla.) WR Kendrick Edwards

Recruitment -- Edwards has a top five with Rutgers as his leader. His Rutgers camp experience went very well and did not take visits to other out-of-area schools during the summer.

Decision -- Edwards will decide the first week of August.

Manalapan (N.J.) WR Saeed Blacknall

Recruitment -- Blacknall does not list Rutgers right now, but the Scarlet Knights are not giving up on this one until National Signing Day. Blacknall has LSU and Alabama on top, but spent plenty of time with the Rutgers staff last month during a passing camp.

Decision -- The plan for Blacknall is to have a decision before the start of his senior season.

Southern Regional (Manahawkin, N.J.) WR/TE Mike Gesicki

Recruitment -- Gesicki is focused on six schools and raved about a Florida State visit from which he returned two weeks ago. Rutgers was the first to offer Gesicki and is set to host him on a visit during the first week of training camp.

Decision -- A late-October decision is in the works for Gesicki.

Pope John XXIII TE Ryan Izzo

Recruitment -- Izzo has a top six that includes Rutgers, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Iowa, USC and Wiisconsin.

Decision -- Izzo wants to decide in August but will not force anything.
