TV: Peoples Ready to Contribute

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- After sitting through a difficult freshman season as a red-shirt, Rutgers running back Desmon Peoples said he is ready to contribute in 2013. But is he healthy enough to play in Saturday's scrimmage?

Rutgers red-shirt freshman running back Desmon Peoples is back at practice in a limited capacity after going out earlier in the week with a hamstring injury, but there remains questions whether he will be able to play in Saturday's scrimmage.

However, even if he doesn't participate, he said he is looking forward to playing in 2013 after the frustration of red-shirting last season.

Peoples, who rushed for 1,241 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior at Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood, said he improved his strength dramatically since that season. And although he is 5-foot-7, 175 pounds, he said there should be no issues as to whether he is durable enough to carry the ball 20 times a game.
