Out of action for the second half of 2012 with a hip injury, the Rutgers sophomore place kicker makes his return as a starter Thursday night against Fresno State.
Federico, formally named starter Sunday afternoon by coach Kyle Flood, will start against the Bulldogs and kick in California for the first time.
Federico said his leg feels stronger than it did as a freshman, where he kicked a 52-yard field goal, and he is not concerned about a hostile crowd after kicking in front of 72,000 in Arkansas.
