PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Gary Nova's Saturday concussion puts senior Chas Dodd back in the spotlight after a nearly two years as a backup. Dodd finished the game against Eastern Michigan and will prepare as a starter with Arkansas coming to town Saturday on national television.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Quarterback Chas Dodd
and coach Kyle Flood both know it will take a better performance under center for Rutgers
to topple Arkansas
next week. Though Gary Nova
has not been ruled out for Saturday, his status is questionable at best after suffering a concussion against Eastern Michigan
Dodd went 4-for-9 for 45 yards and took three sacks against Eastern Michigan. Dodd, who prepares like a starter regardless of his status, steps into the first-team role until Nova is healthy enough to return. That return could be a few days or a few weeks and Dodd said he is ready for anything.
