Lott Breaks Down Official Visit

Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast cornerback commit Kam Lott was one of the top prospects on campus for a blackout victory by Rutgers. Lott visited Rutgers for the second time since committing, and enjoyed a trip to New York, during memorable weekend.

Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast cornerback Kam Lott spent his flight home from an official visit counting the days until Jan. 21 when he enrolls early at Rutgers. Lott was on campus Friday and Saturday for his official visit and offered two thumbs up to his second visit to Piscataway.

"It was crazy because I've never seen fans like that," Lott said. "All of the students were going crazy. They loved it and I just can't wait to be a part of it."

Lott was in the front row at the 50-yard line for the "blackout" comeback victory over Arkansas. Cheering alongside recruits and fans, the game day environment and fifth biggest crowd in school history made a big impact.

"It was definitely cool seeing us beat a team from the SEC," Lott said. "One of my teammates is committed to a school in the SEC. He was texting me all the time, definitely when [Rutgers] was losing 24-7, ‘I told you Rutgers wasn't going to beat the SEC.' It was just cool seeing them play and especially pull out the win. I let him know that Rutgers is big time."

Lott officially visited alongside Katy (Texas) tight end commit Logan Lister, who also plans to enroll early. The two spent Saturday together at the game.

"It was a great time," Lott said. "I was excited to get back and they had a lot of good things set up for me when I first got there. It went well and I loved every minute of it."

Lott got to enjoy Friday night in New York, which is a custom of Rutgers official visits. He went into the city with his father and members of the recruiting staff.

"I rarely get to see New York and stuff like that," Lott said. "It's a great city and getting to go to New York, I loved everything about that."

Lott met with academic advisor Scott Walker during his visit and remains on track to enroll for spring practice and classes.

"I talked to Scott and he said the first date for me would be Jan. 21," Lott said. "Everything is good there. … I can't wait."
