DALLAS -- True freshman running back Justin Goodwin emerged as the brightest point in an ugly 55-52 victory for Rutgers. In his first significant action since Madison High School, Goodwin logged 222 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns.
DALLAS -- Justin Goodwin was the next man up and he took full advantage. The true freshman knew his opportunity was coming with the injury to starter Paul James and he was ready.
Goodwin came in on the second series of the day for Rutgers and never looked back. Scoring three times, Goodwin ran for 149 yards and caught two balls for 73 yards to propel Rutgers to victory.
On the final play, Goodwin broke two tackles in the backfield and carried another two defenders into the end zone.
