SR.com TV: Tejay Johnson Looks to Thursday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers sophomore defensive back Tejay Johnson played the majority of the SMU victory but is in line for a different role Thursday night against No. 8 Louisville and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The Rutgers defense has a lot of improvements to make and only three more days until kicking off against Louisville at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

As a red-shirt freshman, Tejay Johnson played cornerback against Teddy Bridgewater and Louisville, admitting that he was somewhat unprepared for a spotlight on the island in that game. Now as a sophomore, experience against Bridgewater has him eager to get another shot Thursday.

Johnson played a heavy dose of strongside linebacker against the SMU spread, but projects to back up Lorenzo Waters and Jeremy Deering at free and strong safety against Louisville. Johnson spoke with ScarletReport.com about his biggest test as a member of the two-deep.
