SR.com TV: Cornerback Anthony Cioffi

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers is down two starting cornerbacks in Ian Thomas and Lew Toler, making Anthony Cioffi the next man up. A true freshman with limited on-field experience, Cioffi spoke with ScarletReport.com about his readiness to become a starting cornerback for the second half of the season.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- True freshman cornerback Anthony Cioffi will go from a small special teams role to likely starting against Houston and star receiver Deontay Greenberry in just a matter of weeks.

Rutgers lost starting corners Lew Toler and Ian Thomas in a span of four days, and will now use Cioffi in a significantly upgraded role the rest of the season.

Cioffi, from group one Springfield (N.J.) Dayton, had success as a gunner and player well in a brief stint at corner against Louisville, but has a lot of responsibility going in during the bye week.
