PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers receiver John Tsimis made his true freshman debut for the Scarlet Knights in the 49-14 loss to Houston. Tsimis saw his first live action Saturday since tearing his ACL as a high school junior.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The last tie John Tsimis
took the field in a real game, he was a high school junior getting the better of Yuri Wright
in the state championship game between Bergen Catholic and Don Bosco Prep.
A torn ACL, rehab year, verbal commitment and training camp later, Tsimis debuted at High Point Solutions Stadium in the 49-14 loss to Houston.
Rutgers coach Kyle Flood honored his scholarship offer to Tsimis after a torn ACL that took place 18 months ago. The result early is playing time as a true freshman.
