EAST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Rutgers linebackers Steve Longa and Kevin Snyder spoke to ScarletReport.com at Rentschler Field after digesting an ugly 28-17 loss to Connecticut. The Rutgers defense surrendered 300 passing yards for the eighth time this season, and gave up four touchdowns to a struggling offense led by a red-shirt freshman quarterback.
Connecticut converted nine out of 15 third downs, and picked apart the Rutgers secondary to the point of frustration for the defense.
Linebackers Steve Longa, who surpassed 100 tackles for the season Saturday, and Kevin Snyder were the top two tacklers for the Scarlet Knights. After the loss, Longa and Snyder discussed why they liked the defensive scheme and how on-field performance needs to improve.
