PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Chris Laviano is 11 months into his Rutgers career, and was one of the focuses of the first week of Pinstripe Bowl practices. With a quarterback battle expected this spring, Laviano spoke with ScarletReport.com about what he needs to prove and the opportunity ahead.
Quarterback Chris Laviano enrolled at Rutgers a semester early, so spring practice will be nothing new.
Laviano did not expect to beat out established starter Gary Nova or senior Chas Dodd in his first year, but feels ready to compete going into his second spring.
The practice squad took most of Laviano's time during the season. The first week of Pinstripe Bowl practice gave him up-close work with offensive coordinator Ron Prince and a chance to slow down the system.
Laviano spoke with reporters this week about the need to show what he can do moving into spring practice.
