PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Red-shirt freshman Ruhann Peele is back at wide receiver going into the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, and he is happy about the opportunity Saturday presents. With Leonte Carroo doubtful, Rutgers and coach Kyle Flood will look to other options to get the offense moving against Notre Dame.
Ruhann Peele became a starting cornerback this year with the severe depth concerns at the position, but he is glad to be back at his natural wide receiver position.
Peele used his red-shirt year to be one of the stars of 2012 bowl practices. Now in 2013, the Linden (N.J.) High product continues to push for first-team action with sophomore Leonte Carroo battling injuries leading up to kickoff.
Peele spoke with ScarletReport.com this week about returning to wide receiver, and the impact of Brandon Coleman's decision to head to the NFL on the rest of the position group.
