Rutgers Sets Home-and-Home with Washington

Rutgers added another quality non-conference opponent Thursday with the formal announcement of a home-and-home deal with Washington. The Scarlet Knights and Huskies begin a football series in 2016, the schools announced, and Rutgers pushed back its deal with UCLA to 2020-21.

Rutgers and Washington are set for a home-and-home series in 2016-17, announced athletic director Julie Hermann. The Scarlet Knights face the Huskies Sept. 3, 2016 in Seattle, and then play host Sept. 2, 2017 to open the season at High Point Solutions Stadium.

The home-and-home series replaces the one previously schedule with UCLA. Rutgers moved its UCLA series back to the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The 2017 non-conference schedule is now full with games against Washington, Eastern Michigan and Morgan State.
