Perotti Earns All-American Status

Unseeded 157-pound sophomore Anthony Perrotti became the first Rutgers All-American in 12 years Friday night with a strong showing in the NCAA National Championships. Perrotti pulled off three upsets and nearly a fourth to earn the honor.

Rutgers wrestling continues its upward momentum with the move to the Big Ten imminent. Sophomore 157-pound Anthony Perrotti upset three top-16 wrestlers Friday to earn All-American status in Oklahoma City.

Perrotti is the first Rutgers All-American since 2002, and he fell seconds short of another upset.

Perrotti will wrestle for seventh place today against No. 5 Isaac Jordan of Wisconsin.
