C. Vivian Stringer has her first post-season tournament trophy after a 56-54 WNIT victory over Texas El Paso Saturday afternoon. The Scarlet Knights conclude their season at 28-9 after falling short of an NCAA berth.

Super freshman Tyler Scaife nailed a layup with two seconds left on the clock to ice a 56-54 victory over UTEP and the WNIT trophy for the Rutgers women's basketball team.

Scaife finished with a stellar 18 points in the victory, earning her MVP honors for the tournament.

Guard Kaleah Copper was equally efficient with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the victory, marking her third double-double of the season.

Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Stringer took Rutgers to the final four twice, but has never won a national championship. Stringer's victory Saturday marks her first victory in a post-season tournament.

The Scarlet Knights conclude their season at 28-9 after failing to reach the NCAA tournament.
