Trinity Pawling Duo Eyes Rutgers return

Trinity Pawling (N.Y.) defensive end Austrian Robinson and receiver Hergy Mayala hold Rutgers offers, and returned to campus last week for the first time since their junior day visits. Robinson spoke with ScarletReport.com about the duo's latest visit, and a plan to return soon for a third trip.

Defensive end Austrian Robinson and receiver Hergy Mayala plan to make the two-hour drive from Trinity Pawling (N.Y.) boarding school to return to Rutgers within the next week.

Both three-star prospects received verbal offers in March and visited camps again last week. Robinson and Mayala plan to visit either for the spring game or a practice alongside teammate Trevaughan James.

"We didn't really do much, but that was a good thing," Robinson said on his last Rutgers visit. "I'm planning to be back for either the spring game or a practice right before. I talked to the coaches and they're telling me they love having us visit."

Robinson and Mayala received offers in March on junior day visits. The return to campus was based on building relationships with the staff.

"It was good chilling with [defensive line coach Jim] Panagos and [special teams coordinator Bob] Fraser," Robinson said. "We were just talking about everything, and how I can help their defense.

"You know, it was way more comfortable for all of us. I knew all of the coaches already and there was less pressure. They're all good guys. They made me feel way more comfortable than the first time. It was more relaxing. I just felt more like at home."

Robinson and Mayala having offers from the same school makes the Scarlet Knights a more attractive option, Robinson said.

"It makes it a lot easier," he said. "It's way more comfortable at Rutgers, because they're recruiting all of us. We've been talking about going to school together a little bit. It's cool that we have a huge school that likes all of us."

Robinson plans to take other visits in the spring in summer, starting with Maryland. He also named Pittsburgh, Penn State and Old Dominion as schools recruiting him the hardest.

"I plan to have a decision before my senior season," Robinson said. "I don't know when. I don't have a date set or anything like that. I want to take more visits, to see more of the schools that are recruiting me. The earliest I think I'd make a decision is probably July or August."
