Wide Receiver Moore Gaining Steam

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Philadelphia Imhotep Charter receiver D.J. Moore continues to pile up offers. Adding Illinois, Northwestern and Maryland offers in the last week, Moore received a Rutgers offer in person during an unofficial visit.

A Rutgers offer last week caught D.J. Moore by surprise, but it also marked the start of a big week in recruiting.

The talented three-star receiver out of Philadelphia Imhotep Charter picked up his Rutgers offer at the end of a mid-week unofficial visit in a conversation with coach Kyle Flood.

"It was kind of a surprise because I was up there the week before and nothing," Moore said. "Then when I came back and talked to the coaches they offered me. It was very good. I had a good time out there. It was fun. I learned a lot of stuff out there."

Moore took a campus tour with recruiting assistant Eddie Jordan Jr., and said he liked what he saw in Piscataway.

"I got to talk to the whole offensive staff," Moore said. "We got to look around the campus. I saw Livingston. They took me on tours. I had fun."

Moore spent 1-on-1 time with Flood, offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen and receivers coach Ben McDaniels during his visit.

"I like the coaches," he said. "They stay true to what they say. We just had good conversations. They want me because they're losing a lot of receivers. They want to bring more in because they only have about six right now."

Moore's momentum continued after Rutgers with Illinois, Northwestern and Maryland offers to round out the week.

With the offers still coming in, Moore does not see a decision coming any time soon.

"I think I should have my decision after the season is officially over," Moore said. "I want to take some official visits."
