"A ton of schools have been coming lately," Davis said. "A lot of schools have come in. … They're seeing that I am improving from where I was during the season to now. I'm really putting on weight in the weight room, and filling out into what my body can be. They're seeing the potential, but I know I have a lot of ways to improve."
Davis has also impressed coaches with a laser-timed 40-yard days below 4.70.
"I get a lot of responses from coaches saying that they're really impressed with that," Davis said. "When you see the measureables, 6-foot-4 and 215, you don't think he can run a 4.7. They definitely like it. It's something extra I can do."
June 6 marks the first summer camp date for Davis, who will work out in front of Rutgers coaches during a Friday night skills camp.
"Rutgers has been there since day one," Davis said. "It's going great. The first week after their spring game, they came in to see me and everything is still good. I'll go to their camp, and they'll evaluate me and we'll go from there."
Rutgers remains in search of another 2015 quarterback, and the interest intensified this week after Philip Nelson was removed from the program.
Davis also hopes to visit or camp at Penn State, UCF and Temple. By the end of the camp circuit, Davis expects to arrive at a decision.
"I'm thinking about something around the end of June, after camp season is over," Davis said. "I have a couple in mind that if an offer comes through, I'd be ready to pull the trigger. … A lot of coaches want to see me in camp, and I think I'll they're doing to know what they'll do right away. They've seen my film."
Old Dominion, Monmouth and Bucknell were the first three to offer Davis, who enjoyed unofficial visits to all three during the offseason.
"I like those three schools a lot," he said. "I like that they came in right away, and believe in me that I can come in to play. I talk with the coaches at all three a lot. They're definitely all going to be in the running when I make my decision."
