Coach Speak: Blake Camper

Blake Camper committed to Rutgers Friday afternoon. Scout.com caught up with his coach Billy Stachelski, who spoke about his star offensive tackle.

Virginia Beach (Va.) Cox offensive tackle Blake Camper committed to Rutgers today.

"I think they were the second school to offer, so they showed a lot of interest early," said Cox head coach Billy Stachelski. "The fact that his dad is from New Jersey was probably a big factor. Also, the fact that it's not too far away and I think he was really impressed with the coaching staff. I think it's a really good fit."

According to his coach, Camper brings a lot to the table.

"They're getting a someone that's going to work and a guy who's a high-character kid," Stachelski said. "He's going to put the work in academically and on the football field. He still has a lot of potential. Blake is going to continue to get bigger and better."

How good can he be?

"I think if he uses the gifts he's been given and keeps working, his potential is pretty limitless," Stachelski. "I've had a couple coaches tell me that they think he could play in the NFL."

At the time of his commitment, Camper also had offers from East Carolina, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, NC State, Virginia and West Virginia among others.
