It was Robinson's first visit with an important factor in his recruitment – mom.
"I saw a lot of stuff, so I liked it," Robinson said. "This was my first time being at a school with my mom. It was my first time visiting a school with her to learn about college athletics, so that was great. I want to make sure my mom sees all of the schools that I have high interest in."
The visit focused on academic and post-graduate opportunities offered at Rutgers.
"[My mom] liked it a lot," Robinson said. "She liked the opportunities that you can have after college. It's not just about football because it's also after college and later on in life. She liked to learn about that. Also, she's never seen me play before, so she wants to start doing that."
Robinson enjoyed introducing his mother to Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood and staff.
"Before, I've seen the place and I know it. Pretty much it was more about academics just so we can learn more about the school," he said. "… Coach Flood is a good guy. Him and my mom talked, and she likes him. We also talked with [defensive line coach Jim] Panagos and she liked him too."
The Rutgers visit did not change Robinson's top schools or timetable for a decision.
"My top three schools are still the ones that I've visited so far," he said. "It's Boston College Rutgers and Maryland right now in my top three. I want to take official visits before I decide though."
