TE Folkerts Commits to Rutgers

Rutgers picked up a Father's Day commitment from tight end Anthony Folkerts out of Georgia.

Valdosta (Ga.) School tight end Anthony Folkerts waited for Father's Day to make his college decision, and it led him north.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Folkerts committed to Rutgers on Sunday, giving the Scarlet Knights three commitments in the last four days.

LSU quarterback transfer Hayden Rettig made his decision Thursday, and Virginia Beach (Va.) Cox offensive tackle Blake Camper decided to go Scarlet on Friday.

"I really like the people that I met," Folkerts told ScarletReport.com after his visit. "They're good people. I really like the academic and athletic excellence that Rutgers is known for."

Folkerts also had offers from UCF and Southern Miss. He visited Rutgers in the spring and was offered then.

ScarletReport.com will have more on Folkerts' decision later today, and stop by the LeGrand Stand to discuss by
