Storylines

It will be a proud day in Glassboro (N.J.) when Rutgers and Wisconsin face off at High Point Solutions Stadium. The last two big-time running backs are going to battle head-to-head in Paul James of Rutgers and Corey Clement of Wisconsin.

James and Clement took different paths to the college level, but both experienced breakout 2013 seasons at the college level. James walked on at Rutgers and battled similar injuries in college that he faced in high school. He earned a scholarship from coach Kyle Flood, and did not disappoint with 881 yards and nine touchdowns in nine games.

As one of the true high school stars in his year, Clement picked Wisconsin over 15 other schools (including Rutgers). Clement ran for 547 yards and seven touchdowns as the third-string back his true freshman season.

Rutgers fans will see a familiar name wearing the Badger uniform when Tanner McEvoy takes the field. McEvoy is in a battle for the starting quarterback spot after transferring from junior college. He picked South Carolina out of high school before leaving the program.

McEvoy was a Rutgers target out of high school after his older brother, Colin McEvoy, was a special teams standout and walk-on for the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers true freshman cornerback Dre Boggs could have some interesting comments ready for Wisconsin game week. Boggs, who has a shot at instant playing time this season, considered a flip to Wisconsin in the final weeks of recruiting. He visited the Badgers, but things did not go well, and he re-affirmed his Rutgers commitment shortly after returning.

Rutgers did not lose any head-to-head recruiting battles last year, but saw Barnegat (N.J.) lineman Sam Madden pledge to Wisconsin during a camp visit last week.
