Rutgers coach Kyle Flood said it was no surprise to the team when he named Gary Nova his starter, but it allows the offense to take the next step toward preparing for the opener.

Flood addressed the aftermath of his decision Thursday afternoon with the press, and updated multiple injury situations including Kaleb Johnson and Desmon Peoples.

Nova was happy but not surprised to return as the starter, and offered his thoughts on the situation in a 1-on-1 conversation with ScarletReport.com.
