TV: Coordinators Friedgen, Rossi

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers coach Kyle Flood made both offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen and defensive coordinator Joe Rossi available in press-conference settings Sunday as a part of media day. Friedgen and Rossi both discussed their first years in their current roles and the details of preparing for the Big Ten.

Gary Nova was the popular discussion point for offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen in front of the Rutgers podium Sunday afternoon.

As the fourth offensive coordinator in as many years for Rutgers, Friedgen spoke in-depth about helping Nova take the next step and what gives him a chance to succeed as a senior.

Defensive coordinator Joe Rossi steps into his new role after calling plays on special teams last season. Rossi took over for Dave Cohen on an interim role in the Pinstripe Bowl against Notre Dame. He continued the role in spring and into training camp.

Rossi addressed the need to improve and move on from an inconsistent 2013. He also broke down a key position change at linebacker, and the early impact of freshman cornerback Dre Boggs.
