PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Sophomore John Tsimis was productive in training camp and will play a key role for Rutgers next week against Washington State in the season opener.
John Tsimis opened training camp as a reserve, and not listed on Kyle Flood's two-deep. That does not project to be the case when Flood releases his official Washington State-week depth chart.
The 6-foot, 185-pound receiver made statements in consecutive scrimmages, and elevated himself into a key member of the receiver rotation.
Tsimis played briefly as a true freshman, which takes down his nerves heading into next week's kickoff. He discussed his training camp, early film study and building chemistry with Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova.
