Hamilton Proud of Teammates in Opener

SEATTLE -- Darius Hamilton picked up where he left off with a strong showing at 3-tech against Washington State. The junior team captain opened up holes for the pass rush, and his sack saved four points for Rutgers in the 41-38 victory. Though mostly attributed to Mike Leach's scheme, Rutgers held WSU to six net rushing yards.

Dressing in the locker room at CenturyLink Field, junior defensive tackle Darius Hamilton had plenty to say whenever teammates walked by.

Hamilton congratulated Kemoko Turay on his debut, hoping he got credit in the official statistics for his impact in the game. Hamilton gave a shout out to tight end Matt Flanagan, who moved the chains with his first career reception on fourth and short.

Hamilton himself played big in the opener after returning from injury at the end of training camp. he reacted to the 1-0 start to 2014 before his flight home.
